** John 15 vs 4 & 7 **
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me...If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask for what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

What is to abide? To abide is to remain stable or fixed in a state. To abide is to stay, dwell, stick around, remain or tarry.
As children of God, we should abide in Christ Jesus no matter what. Even if hardships come our way, we should endure them patiently whilst sticking to Jesus. Even if the storms of life hit hard on us, we should remain stable and fixed in Christ.
Let's not be "weather Christians" these are Christians who stick around with Jesus when their lives are "sunny" but as soon as their lives are "cloudy" they turn their backs on God and begin to question Him why they going through a particular situation and begin to blame Him etc.
The only way we can bear fruit as children of God is only when we abide in Christ. Galatians 5 vs 22-23 talks about the fruit. When we abide in Christ it results in us having a relationship with Him. He talks about His Words remaining in our hearts in vs 7 of John 15. How does His Word remain in our hearts? Through continual reading and meditation of His Word.
So now when we do 2 things ie abiding in Christ and having His Word abiding in us then WHATEVER we ask from Him, it shall be done for us. May it be our prayer that Christ helps us to abide in Him.
Let us pray together:
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. Lord Jesus, mould me to be a fruitful child of God. Give me the desire to always abide in you and never lose focus. It's only in you will i produce fruit. Prune away every character, every friendship, every relationship, every habit and everything that is hindering me from producing fruit. Thank you Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN!
