DON'T LET THAT CHANGE YOU!

I have learnt that in life, there are some people who will never appreciate you no matter what. Even if the year starts in December and ends in January, their attitude towards you remains the same. Even if the sun rises from the North and sets in the South, their stand remains the same.

These type of people that I am talking about, try by all means to make you feel like you are a nobody. What do they do?

* they are cruel to you

* they are rarely nice to you

* they ignore you

* they talk to you as if their mouth is loaded with peanut butter

* they formulate bad stories about you 

* they try by all means to create a negative image about you to people

* even if you do something for them or buy something, they rarely say "thank you"

* they look down upon you

Simply put, they try to make your life a living hell in every way possible.

You could be encountering such people almost at a daily basis at your work place, at your church, at home etc. I am here to encourage you not to allow that to bother you or eat you up. The Bible says in Genesis 1 vs 27 that God created you in His image. This means that it doesn't matter if someone doesn't see your worth, it's their loss. What matters is how God sees you.

The way that people treat you shouldn't change who you are. No matter how painful it is, don't let that change you! Even if you do something or buy something for them and they don't appreciate it, don't let that stop you from buying stuff or doing things for them because that's just who you are! Even if they ignore you when you greet them, don't let that change, greet them anyway! Even if they are rude to you when they decide to talk to you eventually, don't let that change you-talk to them nicely anyway! Even if they formulate bad stories about you, don't let that change you, don't retaliate- speak good about them anyway! 

The moment you retaliate, you become like them. The Bible says in Romans 12 vs 17 & 21 that you shouldn't repay anyone evil for evil and you shouldn't be overcome by evil but instead overcome evil with good. Don't hate them but instead pray for them. Whenever you feel negative feelings begin to arise inside you, pray for them.

I know how it feels like to be treated that way but I told myself that I will not let that change the kind of person that I am. I am sharing something that I experienced and not something that I heard or read.

The Bible says in Phillipians 2 vs 5, " Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus." The governor's soldiers flogged Jesus, they mocked Him, spat at Him and did the imaginable but Jesus didn't retaliate. He didn't allow that to change the loving and good-hearted person He is. In Luke 17 vs 11-19, Jesus healed 10 lepers but only one went back to Him and thanked Him. Though the other 9 men didn't go back to thank Jesus, that didn't stop Jesus from healing other people- He kept on healing and delivering people anyway. The ungratefulness of one person didn't change who Jesus is- our Healer!the Great Physician!.

In my closing, always remember that not everyone will like you and that shouln't bother you. People are people so always remember no matter what happens, don't let it change you!
